Help with the Healing and Rebuilding

As many of us are pondering the future of Bahia Honda State Park, let us take this viewpoint into consideration. If we continue to view things as they used to be we will forever remain saddened that they are not the same. If we look at this as a new beginning we can all witness its regrowth and restoration and become a part of its future. Bahia Honda has endured hurricanes since its rise from the sea, it will recover and prosper, and so shall we.

We know many of you are wondering what is happening at Bahia Honda State Park. The Friends group wanted to share some insight to what has taken place at Bahia Honda and what’s to come. A lot of progress is already underway with groups of contractors and park staff working every day. There still is a lot to do.

Since reopening last fall, we’ve made great strides to improve access to more areas and services in the park and its marina. Portions of the park will not be accessible to guests while clean-up and rebuilding continue. Calusa Beach, the Marina and Loggerhead Beach are all now open so we can enjoy the Atlantic side!
