2020 NPLD was canceled locally due to Covid-19, but virtual events took place across the country.

September of 2019, we had 50 volunteers sign up and gather to collect trash on Sandspur Beach in honor of National Public Lands Day which promotes volunteer conservation of public lands.  We collected 1100 pounds of trash in 3 hours.  The Friends provided a light breakfast and lunch with a gift card from local sponsor Winn Dixie of Big Pine Key.
